New Video Site

I am pleased to announce that we have recently launched our new video site at video.newatrain.com. Right now it is kind of empty and it needs some more users and videos. It has an upload limit of 250 mb and we allow basically any video. It has a mock youtube look, but at the same time has its own capabilities. So sign up now and help us get more videos

New Layout and Site Function

As you can see the layout has been updated again. It was changed as I realize my old layout worked horribly with Internet Explorer. Now the only problem is if you are using IE7 or earlier, the page won't load. I'm not sure why. Again, Firefox is the best. The video site has been updated with a new player, but the video page itself is still under the old layout with the old videos and video player. Music is updated close to daily based on iTunes top ten songs. (U.S.) New games and shows are coming soon, and we might finally have tv and movie listings. Lets hope. Other than that, everything is still the same. Coming soon:

Layout Differs On Pages...

If you are wondering why the layout is only the new layout on the games section and the home page, that is because it take's a while to update to the new layout, and lately I've had no time. So slowly, but steadily it is updating. Also there are still all the bugs I'm trying to work out. One thing I want to mention. In IE 8 (not 7) the site still doesn't work. That is all for now

Known Bugs In Other Browsers

As you know, I am a Firefox user, so everything I design is based on the way it will look it Firefox. So I have downloaded the top browsers and viewed the site on those. I am talking about Google Chrome, Opera, Netscape, Safari, Internet Explorer and even WebTV. here are my results:

Chrome- Same layout and look as in Firefox. The glider on the home page works as it should, and when one of the links is clicked on it opens in the Highslide "pop up" as it should. Two bugs i noticed. One bug is if you click out of the pop up, the music or video or similar continues to play in the background. Also if you click one of the links on the home page, the pop up pops up fine, but the other things in the window doesn't show. like the comments, ratings, etc... But only in some of them. The process is random, and I have no solution to this problem. Other than that, the site works fine.

Opera- One major bug I noticed is the glider on the home page, or all the pages for that matter, doesn't work. It won't move on to the next one, so that makes it impossible to see the other links. This is pretty important, and I am searching for a solution immediately. The high slide pop out works on here, but the same thing as chrome, the multimedia will continue to play unless you stop it.

Netscape- The one bug i noticed here is that when you click the glider for the first two times it doesn;t change. It takes three clicks for it to move to the next slide. Not a huge deal if you figure it out. Other than that everything is fine

Internet Explorer- This is the worst at my site. The layout is all messed up. Everything about it is screwed and wrong. Also none of the features work. The glider, the pop up and every java script feature I have. Internet explorer makes the site look and work bad and i STRONGLY suggest you switch browsers.

WebTV- Boo. Honestly, does anyone use this?

Safari- First note that I use windows, the obvious better computer. So this was tested in windows safari. I'm not sure how the site reacts on macs. That being said, I tested the site and it had the same exact results as in Google Chrome... Strange. So The only problem being that some of the pages tabs don't. I really can't figure out why. Other than that, the site's layout looks normal and the features all work fine.

All in all I am going to say SWITCH TO FIREFOX. It is overall the best browser in handling javascripts and such, and it has overall better quality than the other browsers. If anything, switch to another browser if you are using IE. That is all

New Site Layout Again

Hey guys I know it's been a while since I posted an update, so I thought I'd let you know what's going on back here at home base. After getting some bad reviews for our new layout, I decided to redo the whole design. I pulled a couple late nights working on this, and now I am releasing it. It will take a day or two for me to change every section (Minus music, movies, videos, and shows) to the layout. Also I am working on all the parts of the site that still don't exist. As you may notice, I got rid of two sections:
Quizzes- I feel no need to keep this section around. Ever since I started the site I've had this section listed, but never done anything with it, so I decided to get rid of it.
Lyrics- The lyrics section was exactly the same as the music section, so I decided why not just merge them. So now lyrics can be found under music.
That's all I've got for now. Look out for some great new features here.

New Server

I Just recently bought a new server for atrain.com. It is finally my own, not hosted on a free hosting site. It is a linux server in case you were wondering and it is fully functional. Right now the site is back under construction because I had to update everything to a new layout. The old one had too many problems with other browsers other than fire fox. I also launched another site unlimiteduploading.com. This is a very helpful site for people who are looking for file hosting. It lets you host as many files as you want, any type, any size, and there is no traffic limit. It's pretty easy to use. That's all for now. Look out for the site coming back 8-18-08*.

Working On Organized Look For Games and Lyrics

I am trying a new look for the games and lyrics because they are kind of unorganized. Also, I'm going to have to start adding more lyrics, I know. Sorry on the delay. I am working on integrating the music, lyrics and tabs section together. Also I know the site is a basic looking site, I am working on making it more fancier and friendlier. But that will be into the future. For now I am doing it step by step. SO the games and lyrics section may be up and down from time to time for the next week or two. Oh and I know about the problem with the proxy and videos and images not showing up. I am working on a solution. It's taking me a while to figure it out. i keep reading through the code and cannot find the bug. But I should figure it out soon.

Updating To Flash

I have jsut recently updated all the videos to flash instead of Windows Media Player, and am halfway done updating all the music to flash. I also created a proxy, if you see. Check it out at www.newatrain.com/Proxy or if your at school go to www.newatrain.com/Visit. It works. It worked last time i used it at school. That was about two days ago. I also finally figured torrents out, so i will much faster be able to put shows and movies up.

Yes, Still Alive

I'm still alive and working on the site. I know there hasn't been any upadtes lately, but that's because my main tower has been down, and still is. Right now i am using a computer that is not very good and doesn't have all the tools my main one does, so it's hard to do stuff. I am going to start putting movies up, right now in parts, but later full. I am trying to get movies in theater up, but most i find are bad camera quality. I might just put those up there if it comes to it, but for now, i am trying to find good movies. So for now they will be in parts, but when my main tower gets back up, i will clip them together

I have been trying to update the site lately, but the fair has been this week so I have been spending most of my time and energy there. But I try to work on the site in my free time. As you can see I got an improved logo, and am Improving for all logos on every page. Also I added a new section:

4 Year Anniversary

Just like to say happy anniversary. Atrain.com has been around 4 years this month, starting as just a basic site about myself after taking a basic computer class in 6th grade. New Things

Okay a couple of new things I've been working on. The music site is now more organized to where you can see a list of songs by artists, song, or by genre. I added a search engine to each section and by tomorrow there will be a new one to videos and games. As you can see when you search with this new one, there are one or two ads on top. Ignore them and go to the search results. Maybe later I will either find a free one without ads or buy one without ads. TBA. I also put a Yahoo! search engine on the home page to make it convenient for people who switched there homepage from a search engine site to atrain.com. That's all for now.

More Updates

Okay so I've been working on a few more things today. I got a lot more music up, a couple more videos, and a new feature to the lyrics site. Now when you lookup a lyric, you have a choice of just reading the lyrics or reading the lyrics with the song playing in the background. I also have put up more music, and will soon be changing it from windows media player to quicktime player, so make sure you have quciktime installed. I just think it looks neater that way. I might have it so you have the option to choose between the two. Last thing, two features to lookout for. I am working on a more direct file upload form that would let you send files directly to my server, instead of my email. And I am also working on a more direct commenting system to comment on games, music and videos. Those should be coming very soon.

Couple More Things Acomplished

I got a couple more things acomplished today. I found a good file hoster, so music and videos will be updated constantly. I mixed the Listen To Music and the Download Music into one so now when you click on a song under the music section, you listen to it, and below it is a download link. The games are back up and running after me taking them down for about an hour to update them. Thats it.

Lots of New Updates; Game Bug Fixed

Since I am grounded, I have spent the whole day updating the site, fixing things, and adding the forum back.
Okay so the game bug is finally fixed. The games should center on the page right. I am still working on the IE bug. I am not sure exactly how I am going to do it. But I will figure it out.
The Forum is back, and for the moment, I am hosting it on armbell instead of on our own server like before. I will switch it back soon, but not right now.
I also am still looking for a hoster for the music and videos. Its harder than one would think. T35 wont let us host music and videos on our server so I can't do it that way. Also Taylor and I have been on the phone working on the site like nonstop for the past two days, brainstorming new ideas and working on our stuff.
Oh duh one more thing. WE ARE ON OUR OWN DOMAIN! Can't believe it? Me either. But we are and I just fixed every link so no more sending you back to atrain.t35.com. And we are looking into a better email thing. Thats all

Where To Start...

Well lets see. As I have mentioned I recruited my buddy Taylor in to help with the site. He has been doing a great job in helping with me. This weekend we have gotten alot done. I officially updated every page. We are now adding new stuff at a speedy pace. Mostly games at the moment because i am trying to find a new file hoster. Lyrics will start coming up soon and videos and music after i find a new hoster. I added a search engine to the games section which has proven quite affective. Its temporary for now because i can only add up to 60 pages on it. Which right now we only have about 20 but soon we'll have many more. We are constantly coming up with new ideas on how to improve the look of the site. So within the next like month expect minor changes here and there. One major bug is with the games, they are not on the page very well. I am trying to figure that out, but for now, it will be fine. Another big one I figured out when i used my dads laptop is that when you look at the site on Internet Explorer, it is all uncentered and kind of disorginized. I'm not sure why. Another reason why I encourage use of FireFox. That's all for now. Oh and newatrain.com will be up in the next 2 or 3 days for sure.

Finished Major Updating

I have finished major updating. I still have to do minor things, but done with the main pages. This means that I will start putting up new stuff. And trust me, there will be lots of new stuff. I'm calling it a night tonight, but tomorrow i will be adding plenty of new things. I have recruited a new member of the atrain.com team, which now consists of 2. What A Way To Bring In the New Year

Happy New Years everyone. I have exciting news here at atrain.com. I have my domain newatrain.com setup so as soon as tomorrow i will be using it. Hopefully nothing will go wrong this time.

Good Things

A few good things I want to mention here. After hours of work and research I have found a much easier and quicker way to edit the pages to the new look. That means soon every page will be updated and I will start adding more than just the two videos you see. Also the domain name should be coming today or tomorrow. Depends on how long till t35 contacts me back. Last the forum should be switched to the new hosting instead of being on 5GB free's server. Soon.

A Few Things

Okay where to start. I'm updating a lot of stuff, so be patient. Everytime I update on page, I have to update them all. The lyrics site is giving me weird problems. I'm not just saying that so I don't have to put that up. It really is doing weird things.
You may notice that on the "updated" pages that there is absolutely nothing there. Chill. Let me update them to the new layout first and then I will put things up.
If a link is messed up, then please tell me about it. I am making things different so the main pages are just like /Lyrics instead of /Lyrics.html. So if something is messed up, tell me. Like for some people the list link doesn't work. Also trying that out.
The music site. I have decided to combine the listen to music site and the download music site into one. When you listen to a song you can click a download link. Also you can just download the songs separately.
Last thing. I will be up to my domain newatrain.com sometime this month or early January. I mean it this time. I realize it has been like a year since I got it, but soon i will have it up. That's all

Working Hard On Site

As you can see I have been updating the site as fast as possible. Now that it is winter break, I will be updating much more. It takes a lot with this new layout to update a page. Once I get them all on the new format, it will be a lot easier. So until then it will take time to get them all updated. There may be errors, like say leading you back to atrain.bravehost.com. That is because I am editing it there, and it sometimes changes the links on me. And there is something wrong with the lyrics site, I am working on figuring that out.

Back From Remodeling and Slowly Updating

Okay, as you can see, I have re-modeled the Home Page so far and thats it. I am going to start working on every section bit by bit. It will take a while, but it will all get done. I have come to the realaztion that even though i own the domain newatrain.com, i still need to transfer it which will cost money. I will get it up soon. So slowly each section will be updated and new. And i'm not sure if im going to stick with this layout. It might change.Oh and I do realize that the title box and the highlight for the words is different shades of blue. I'm not sure why. Its coded as the same colour. I'm trying to figure this out, but for now, it will just look goofy.

Atrain.com Is Back And On New Hoster

We are back, and as you noticed, we are now hosted by t35.com. This is because 5GBfree got bought out, and changed compltetely to the point where it was unacceptable. Missing Music

It has come to my attention that a lot of the music hosted on my databus has been removed and is unable to be downloaded. If you find this, please email me. I am trying to transfer all music to uploading it, but it may take some time, so be patient. All music that is able to be listened to is going to be able to be downloaded from the site in just a bit.

Free Movies Postponed, Shows Are Being Added; New Music Listening

I have decided to not do movies until we have unlimited hosting, so now all we are going to have is shows in that section. As you can see we have a total of (Drumroll)....

Very Exciting News

I Have very exciting news as of 11:30. I have found a new file uploader that lets me upload up to 750 mb size files and it gives me 25 gb space to hold files. It is uploadingit.com. This means that i will be able to upload alot more to the site. Look out for it

Major Bugs

I was going through the site, trying to make everything updated, and put more stuff up when i noticed huge bugs in the music listening, quiz, and movie/shows features. I am working on fixing them now. They should be up with more stuff added to them soon. Check back. Also if you find any bugs, please report them to me immediately. Not Enough Money

Okay I am back after vacation and after going over my budget and seeing that I do not have enough money to buy unlimited web hosting, so for now we are just gonna have to stick with 5gbfree until enough money is raised. I know the deadline was mid-august and I have been promising it for about a year now with that date, but unfortunately were gonna have to wait. I'm going to say early October at the latest. Site Put On Hiatus

Atrain.com is going to put on hiatus for a while due to switching over to IXWebhosting and summer vactions. I'm only one person yah know. Which remids me, if you would like to apply for a job at atrain.com, click here.
So it's not that the site won't be up, it's just gonna look the same for a while. By mid-august we should be all switched over to our new hoster, but don't worry, I will add new stuff by like end of july just so you don't have to keep waiting. If you visit the sit now, which is fine, you may be switching back and forth between newatrain.com and atrain.5gbfree.com. The changes Will begin either July 12th or later. Keep updated.

Music Bug Managable

Well okay. Some songs you'll try to download when in Firefox, it won't work. Most songs will. Here's why. The songs you won't be able to download in Firefox are MP3 Files with direct links. The ones you will be able to download are m4P, WMA, and MP3's hosted on mydatabus.com. So most files are downloadable now.

Video Bug Fixed

Even though I couldn't figure out how to fix the Firefox music bug, the video bug has been fixed. Hooray! You must have the Windows Media Player plugin, and it might take up to a minute to load due to 5GBfree's current server problems.

Music Bug Unfixable

There is no possible way for me to fix the music bug for Firefox. Firefox is always going to read MP3 files to play them, and not download them, so there is no way of fixing that. The only way for us Firefox users to download the MP3 files is to either use IE when doing it, or downloading the Add-On IE Tab from Firefox.com

Broken Links

There has been numerous reports of broken links. I try to make sure all my links are working on a daily basis, but if you seem to find one, please email me at webmaster@newatrain.com, and explain to me where it is, and what is wrong with it. Or post it in our forum at atrain.5gbfree.com/Forum

Fixed All Fonts On Front Page

I Fixed all the fonts on the front page, so now everything is the same size. I am still working on fixing the Video and Music bugs when in Firefox.
